Fright Factor Rating: SPOOKER! -Cody Saw II - 2005Starring: Donnie Wahlberg, Shawnee Smith, Tobin Bell Written by: Darren Lynn Bousman, Leigh Whannell Directed by: Darren Lynn Bousman Category: Horror/Thriller Running Time: 93 minutes Language: English MPAA Rating: R Reviewer 1: Saw 2 was much scarier than the first because more scary gross things happen. Fright Factor Rating: SHOCKER! -Shelby Reviewer 2: Saw 2 was not horribly scary. But it was more surprising than Saw 1 and kept you in suspense and that is a great movie. Fright Factor Rating: SPOOKER! -Cody Reviewer 3: Back again for more tricks with "Jigsaw". It took me a while to rent this one, mainly because I'm not real big on gore and I had heard this one had more than it's fair share. However, "Saw" was just too original for me to at least not check this one out. I can't say I was disappointed. In my opinion, not as good as the original, but still worth a rent. Hard to live up to the first one. There is definitely a decent amount of gore, but not absolutely so much that I couldn't handle it although I did look away on one occasion. Anyways, lots of twists and turns in this one, just like the first. We get to meet Jigsaw in this one and find out a little more about what makes him tick. Look for another sequel for sure. SHOCKER! -Burt

Not only was the chainsaw weilding man scary, everyone in that town was! I HATED that cop (R. Lee Ermey) and LOVED the end because of that. Some of the scariest moments didn't even involve the main madman. The girl they picked up in the beginning? Freaked everyone out because you know she must have seen something bad if she was willing to do that to herself! Also, the moment with Morgan in the van when he attempted to shoot the sheriff had me in my seat saying, "Do it! Pull the trigger!" Night Shyamalan Category: Horror/Thriller Running Time: 108 minutes Language: English MPAA Rating: PG-13 "The Village" isn't the typical horror film. Horror is an "aside", or "offset", here. M. Night Shyamalan caught negative points because he didn't remain in the same vein of his previous films (horror with an "Oh My God" end twist). This movie has an "end twist", but it is so telegraphed that it can't be considered a surprise. This is a love story with creepy asides. A love story that can only be set in the "surprise ending". The creep factor is in the nature of how the tale is told. This is only considered a horror film because of the director's past film history. It isn't a horror film. It's a romance (horror is romance as well), well-done, intense and brilliantly executed with some of the best dialogue and perfect scenes to come along in years. It is a "subtle" "SCREAMER" because it doesn't scream in your face, it screams at your heart. –Bob Martin For me, The Village was a disappointment. First of all, it can hardly be considered a horror movie at all. It plays out as more of a suspenseful drama as there are really only about two somewhat scary moments throughout the entire film. It moves along dreadfully slow and never builds up to a climax worth waiting for. I particularly did not like the end of the movie as it leaves you with so many unanswered questions. The movie, however, is not interesting enough to make you really care about the answers to those questions anyway. Do not be fooled by the trailer for this film as that alone is what drove me to see it, even though I had heard nothing but negative feedback prior to viewing the film. The best thing going for this film is the acting which I would say is above average for the supporting characters and superb for Bryce Dallas Howard.
